The Regional Enterprise Competitiveness and Access to Markets programme (RECAMP) is about boosting participation of the private sector in regional and global value chains. The programme does this through the improvement of the investment and business climate and enhanced competitiveness in the COMESA region.
The COMFWB Seychelles held the RECAMP workshop in Victoria, Mahé Island, Seychelles. The facilitators trained 25 entrepreneurs from different economic sectors on internationalization of their businesses and access to finance.
The participants indicated that they have been in service industry and would like to improve their knowledge about agroprocessing and packaging through an incubation programme.
80% of the participants have responded that they learn a lot about the COMESA FTA. They agreed to work together in a cooperative in order to access finance and build their capacity for value addition. Sectors were agribusiness, agroprocessing, arts and crafts including leather products, fisheries and service industry for horticulture products.
