The three-day participatory workshop was successfully held at the Summer Café in Mogadishu, Somalia. The workshop attracted 30 participants. The workshop was officially opened by the representative of the Office of the Director General of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia (MoCI-FGS).
Prior to the start of the training, the facilitator carried out an assessment of the participants to gauge the different types of businesses (i.e., Small or Medium), products and services that they supply to the markets, their literacy level both in writing and comprehending various business records, especially numerical or financial or accounting tools.
The evaluation results show that the training context was enriching, and the women entrepreneurs learned about the existence of regional economic and trade blocs that they can tap through to improve the standards and qualities of their products and service.
This was a very useful training. Thank you to the sponsors. : Looking forward to more workshops. - Hersio Abdulle Siad, Chapter Chairperson

International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. This year's theme was titled #BreakTheBias. Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
