Ms. Ruth Negash
Ruth Negash is a highly dedicated leader and experienced manager who advocates for economic development of a nation through the active participation of women and youth. She’s a collaborative and inclusive team member able to empower professional teams and work efficiently to achieve goals of an institution and takes sound judgement when making decisions in highly sensitive and complex environments.
Ruth holds MA in Education Management and Leadership and a BS Degree in Physiology in Medicine. Post Graduate Certifications in Advanced Project Management, Human Resource Management, Training and Development, Training of Trainers and Health and Safety. As a Chief Executive Officer of the COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB), her leadership role is to manage, strengthen, encourage, promote, network and represent African women in business for the 21 African COMESA member nations. The COMFWB headquarters is located in Lilongwe, Malawi.
With more than 20 years of experience in managing change and leading teams across multiple sectors in development, education, health care and the mining sector, she has developed a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem-solving, productivity and focus on delivering results. Ruth is eager to learn, enjoy overcoming challenges and have a genuine interest in developing communities and nations through the grassroots business ownership. She believes that a successful economic empowerment for women and youth results from policy advocacy, organizing communities, partnering with public and private sectors to link with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for achieving a sustainable growth.
