The 5th COMFWB Trade Fair and Business Conference in Madagascar : A successful economic event, in honor of talent and courage, determination of women's know-how, women leadership in the field of entrepreneurship

The 5th COMFWB TRADE FAIR and BUSINESS CONFERENCE which took place last 28th and 29th June 2024 at the Novotel Convention and Spa Antananarivo Madagascar was very successful. The First Lady of Madagascar, Her Excellency Ms Mialy RAJOELINA, the patron of this Regional economic event, honored the ceremony with her presence, as did several leading figures from the Malagasy and international public and private sectors including:

· The COMESA Team, led by Dr Dev Hamman, the Assistant General Secretary of COMESA, at the head of a large team of directors and managers

· Representatives of the Malagasy Government led by HE Mrs Rasata Rafaravavitafika, Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Mr Edgard Razafindravahy, Minister of Industrialization, Commerce and Consumption of Madagascar, and several senior Malagasy government officials

· The Presidents of the 21 National Associations of Women entrepreneurs, members of the COMESA Federation of Women in Business(COMFWB) led by Ms Maureen SUMBWEE, Chairperson of the COMFWB General Assembly

·The COMESA Federation of Women in Business Secretariat team led by the Chief Executive Director (CEO), Mr Chikakula MITI

·The members of “Groupement des Femmes Entrepreneurs de Madagascar -GFEM”, the COMFWB Madagascar Chapter, led by Ms Fanja RAZAKABOANA

·The Representatives of International Organizations in Madagascar led by Mr Issa SANOGO, Country resident of United Nations in Madagascar

·The representatives of various international and national partners

·Many Presidents of economic groupments in Madagascar, as well as leaders of Malagasy and International Private Sectors

·And indeed Women entrepreneurs from the COMESA Region and regions of Madagascar who came massively in Antananarivo to attend this event

The opening ceremony was grandiose and the whole event was successful in all areas. It indeed honored the talent and courage, the determination of women's know-how, and the women leadership in the field of entrepreneurship.

  • More than 170 delegates from more than 25 countries, including from 21 member States of COMESA, came in Madagascar to attend this Economic Regional event
  • More than 140 Women in Business exhibited and showcased their products in 100 Stands/booths and 16 countries booths were set up
  • More than 5.000 persons visited the Exhibitions
  • More than 1 million views of to all the livestreaming of all the event are registered since the first day to date
  • More than 60 International experts from international organizations, governments, public departments and private companies participated at the Business Conferences as Speakers and moderators.
  • More than 1600 persons attended the Business Conferences and the Business Talks for two days.
  • Among 35 partners, national and international accompanied and supported COMFWB to make that event successful.

 

The COMFWB Trade Fair event has become a hallmark for promoting African Female entrepreneurs across the COMESA Region, and it presents an opportunity for the 21 member States countries to showcase their commitment to fostering Women-led Businesses and Regional Economic Integration.

The next 6thCOMFWB Trade Fair and Business Conference will take place next year 2025 in Addis-Ababa, in Ethiopia
