Djibouti Women Entrepreneurs Shine at Expo-Vente and Conference 2024 in DJIBOUTI

Djibouti City – A vibrant gathering of female entrepreneurs took place as the Association of Dumaar Yio Dadaal of Djibouti or COMFWB Djibouti Chapter hosted the Third annual Expo-Vente and Conference on 09th November 2024. The event, held at the Palais du Peuple, brought together government officials, business leaders, and women from diverse sectors to celebrate and empower women in business.

The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries and graced by the presence of

-Mrs Mouna Ousmane, the Minister of Women and Family

-Mrs. Safia Mohamed, the Secretary of State for Investment and for the Private Sector

-The Minister of Youth and Culture

-Mrs Emma NGouan, the Representative of the UNDP in Djibouti πŸ‡©πŸ‡―

-Mr Youssouf Moussa, the President of the Chamber of Commerce in Djibouti πŸ‡©πŸ‡―

-Mr Sebastian Nahon, the President of the Association of Banks

-The director of the Funds of Guarantee of Djibouti

-Some women parliamentarians as well as women entrepreneurs from various sectors

Their attendance underscored the government's commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth.

The three-day event offered various opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Attendees had the opportunity to:

β€’ Learn about financing options for women-owned businesses

β€’ Gain insights from successful female entrepreneurs

β€’ Explore e-commerce and SME management through masterclasses

Thirty-five women entrepreneurs, members of the Association, and from diverse sectors, including agro-business, cosmetics, design, fashion and textile, furniture, and home decoration, and clothing, have benefited from essential training on SME Management and E-Commerce during that recent EXPO-VENTE and Conference.The SME Management training equipped these women with the necessary skills to lead and manage their businesses effectively, improving productivity and overall performance. The E-Commerce training provided valuable insights into online business strategies and tools, empowering them to expand their market reach and customer base through digital platforms.

The COMFWB Djibouti Chapter made tireless efforts in organizing this impactful event. This platform provides women entrepreneurs with the tools and connections they need to succeed.
