Comoros Chapter Participates in the First Edition of the World Summit of Women of Expertise
The COMFWB Comoros Chapter participated in the first edition of the World Summit of Women and Enterprise. The summit took place from May 10 to 14, 2022 at the People's Palace in Moroni, Comoros. Fifteen delegates from 15 countries were expected in Moroni on the occasion of this large-scale event, the purpose of which was to promote the Comorian female entrepreneurial culture. Asna Saïd Allaoui, President of the NGOs at the national level, defined the event as being a moment of sharing and training, but also of openness for women entrepreneurs. 70 women, namely 22 in Moheli, 22in Anjouan and 26 in Grande-Comores were trained in 17 modules.
The partners who accompanied and participated in this event were the Comorian authorities at the head of which the President of the Republic, Azali Assoumani, the Minister of Health in the Union of the Comoros, Mrs. Loub Yakoutti, and also the Governor of Ngazidja,Sitti Farouata Mhoudine. The latter looked at the strategic positions to which women can claim in the country, stating, “This summit augurs a new fight, since it is part of the dynamic of valuing knowledge and the power of women"
Also present were the various diplomatic corps accredited in the Union of the Comoros, employers' organizations and trade unions, young and women entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, including 12 members of RESNAFE (of whom had exhibition stands for cosmetic products/traditional clothes and Agri-food products).
Ms. Solange Abanda, President of the international NGO in France, expressed her satisfaction at having come to the Comoros to support the edition of the World Summit of Women of Expertise, which she said is "an initiative that allows women to wake up and awaken the spirit”. She affirms that the Comoros are a true example of the emancipation of women “The Comoros are a land of welcome, a country with a matriarchal society where women are honored, which supports women. In the Comoros it is the woman who inherits unlike other countries and other cultures. It is with this objective of promoting women and allowing them to control and take off their Business that this first Edition of the World Summit of Women of Expertise is part of.”
