COMFWB BUSINESS CONFERENCES : A platform of knowledge, experiences, successtories and best practices sharing. An opportunity to network and establish partnerships

The 5th COMFWB BUSINESS CONFERENCES were an occasion for more than 60 International Experts from Private and Public Sectors as well as from diverse International Organizations to share indepth insights and experiences, great guidance and best practices on Female Entrepreneurship to the participants. It took place last Friday 28thand Saturday 29th June 2024 at NOVOTEL Convention and Spa -Antananarivo-MADAGASCAR.Through this event, attendees could update their information, learn about concepts and new approaches, beneficiate experiences, successtories and best practices sharing from Private and Public Leaders

The seven THEMES were various and pertinent

Theme 1: «The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and #AfCFTA Markets : Empowerment tools for female entrepreneurs ». The objective of the panel was to highlight the role of AfCFTA in empowering women entrepreneurs and to introduce COMESA markets and AfCFTA opportunities for women entrepreneurs

Theme 2:  « The Role of institutions in promoting Regional and continental economic and Trade integration ». The objective of the panel was to present the Roles of Institutions and organs in promoting Regional economic development

Theme 3: “The importance of technology and digitization for accessibility and competitiveness in the Market”.

Theme 4: «Tourism as a driver of growth for Women Entrepreneurs ». The objectives of the Conference were the Valorization of the tourism potential for women-led businesses in the COMESA region and to share strategies to boost tourism and leverage local resources in COMESA countries and to inform about Innovation and sustainable tourism: Opportunities for female entrepreneurs

Theme 5: «Commercial opportunities within regional value chains”. The objectives of the Conference were to discuss about how female entrepreneurs can enhance the value of their products and services to better position themselves in the market, the importance of co-creating inclusive regional value chains and finally to confirm that Local valorization and transformation are Keys to success for women in Regional markets

Theme 6: «Markets access with access to finance for Women Entrepreneurs: What are the challenges and opportunities »?

Theme 7: “Towards an inclusive future: Women entrepreneurs' footprint in green and circular economies through sustainable investment”. The objectives of panel were to present green investment trends and discuss how women can innovate and engage in green investment, to provide information on the opportunities and challenges of green investment for women entrepreneurs, and to discuss the importance of green and sustainable investment, and present Regional initiatives.

The panelists and moderators were from Ministries, national and international partners, women and youth entrepreneurs,national and international private companies. In total 1600 participants attended these conferences.  

B2B platforms were also organized between business owners and partners. A master class on "Trading under AfCFTA and COMESA: Market Opportunities," specifically designed for trade-ready entrepreneurs was also organized by UNDP for 30 women entrepreneurs along with the business conference.

Business Conferences are a precious occasion for networking Opportunities, for learning and Development, Industry Trends discovering, and for boosting Visibility. Through it, speakers and attendees could beneficiate new motivation and Inspiration, access to Resources and Tools, establish partnership and collaboration and exhange cultural and Global Insights.
