Business Excellence Awards in Zimbabwe : For recognition of female entrepreneurs good work

The COMESA Awards stand as the Epitome of Excellence in the Republic of Zimbabwe, representing a National Honor and a celebration of success within the Zimbabwe Business Women Community. They serve as a hallmark of achievement, inspiration and success showcasing the remarkable contributions of Zimbabwean Business Women. These prestigious awards symbolize the spirit of entrepreneurship and excellence embodying the values of dedication, innovation and resilience that define the Zimbabwe Business Women Landscape.
The Business Women Excellence Awards, this was the inaugural event organized by the Zimbabwe Chapter. Award ceremonies are hosted to acknowledge the hard work that recipients will have put in their different areas of expertise. We chose to host the event in March because March is the month that we celebrate Women’s month. Nominations were called out a month before the event and once the names and all the necessary information was collected, a panel of judges went through a voting process. The recipients were from different sectors of the business realm. We had Banking, Mining, Agriculture, Tech, Customer Services, Tourism, Visual Arts, Branding, Digital Marketing, Construction, Engineering, Medical, Logistics, Music, Real Estate and Overall Best categories.
The giving of awards to recipients makes them feel that their work is valued. It showed approval and gratitude for each person’s good work and it makes people aware that good work will be rewarded. The event was hosted at Cresta Sango, Harare on the 20th of March 2024. It was a very glamorous event and all recipients were very happy and excited to be receive awards as most of them had never been appreciated in this way.
The COMFWB Board Chairperson, Madam Maureen Sumbwe and CEO Mr Chikakula Miti we the Guest of Honors, whilst we also had Guest Speakers Mrs Karen Mutasa, CEO of Skin Spar and Masawara Urban Retreat, Mrs Chipo Mandela CEO of Cresta Hotels and Dr T.D Mukurazhizha, CEO of Sandevan Holdings Pvt Ltd. The characteristics of Excellence being commitment, discipline, passion, resilience and integrity. It was a night of Excellence, celebrating Excellence.
