17TH COMESA BUSINESS FORUM : accelerating Regional Integration through the development of Regional Value Chains in climate resilient agriculture, mining and tourism
The COMESA Secretariat, COMESA Business Council and the Government of the Republic of Burundi, in partnership with the Burundi Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will host the 17th COMESA Business Forum on 28th October 2024, in Bujumbura, Burundi. The event is supported by the European Union‘s 11th European Development Fund through the COMESA Regional Enterprise Competitiveness and Access to Markets Programme (RECAMP). The Forum will precede the 23rd COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit on 31st October 2024.
The Business Forum, hosted under the theme, “Accelerating Regional Integration through the Development of Regional Value Chains in Climate Resilient Agriculture, Mining and Tourism”, will focus on engaging public and private stakeholders on solutions that will propel and transform COMESA Member States into competitive and sustainable growing economies for regional and global trade and investment expansion.
The Forum will feature a High-level Dialogue which will be led by discussions between ministers and private sector stakeholders, on support mechanisms towards creating a competitive business environment in the COMESA region, focusing on regional value chains in Agriculture, Mining, and Tourism. The Forum will provide a platform for industry leaders to strategise on elements needed to propel COMESA economic growth and attract investors.
The recommendations will form part of the COMESA Business Declaration to be presented to the 23rd Summit of COMESA Heads of State and Government.
