17th COMESA Business Forum 2024 in BURUNDI : A Platform for Regional Prosperity

Bujumbura was buzzing with excitement as the 17th COMESA Business Forum got underway!

Policymakers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from across the region were gathering to drive economic growth and foster stronger trade ties. With a vibrant opening ceremony and a packed agenda, this two-day event promises to be a catalyst for Regional integration.

The 17th COMESA Business Forum commenced last 28th October 2024 in Bujumbura, Burundi, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. The event, organized by the COMESA Business Council (CBC) and the Government of Burundi, was focused on promoting intra-Regional trade and investment.With the participation of policy makers, business leaders, and civil society organizations, the Forum aimed to address key challenges and opportunities facing the COMESA Region. The 23rdCOMESA Heads of State and Government Summit solidified Regional cooperation and integration.

9 Women entrepreneurs from nine COMESA/COMFWBMembers States are participating at this Regional economic event. The second day, October 29th, 2024, the stand of COMFWB at COMESA International Trade Fair at Parliament ground of Bujumbura was honored by the visit of His Excellency Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of BURUNDI and Her Excellency Mrs Mpundu Kapwepwe, Secretary General of COMESA.

This exciting commercial and economic event showcased the best of African products and services, empowering businesses to:

•Expand: Reach new markets across the COMESA_Region and beyond

•Innovate: Drive product development and raise quality standards

•Network: Connect with buyers, suppliers, and industry leaders.

•Grow: Close deals, build partnerships, and gain valuable insights

Incredible women entrepreneurs from 9 COMESA Member States /COMFWB Chapters were taking center stage at this COMESA International Trade Fair, including:

•Elisabeth Nkhwazi (Malawi)

•Patricia Karani (Kenya)

•Iangotiana Andrianomanana (Madagascar)

•Laurence Mugasandana (Rwanda)

•Etsegnet Gezachew (Ethiopia)

•Lynnet Nakidde (Uganda)

•Gratitude Ntonda (DRC)

•Jihene Bouzguine (Tunisia)
